I am a Heartless Bitch because I place sincerity and truth above illusion. I gauge things by merit, probability and logic, and know that sometimes the sting means the medicine's working. I believe that it's only through contact with hot coals that a lump of unremarkable metal can turn into something useful, and don't consider myself a feminist as much as I do a realist. I am a person who tries to see the world as it is, and tell it about the things it's not seeing in itself, whether those things be flaws or merits either. I believe that pride shouldn't get in the way of a good second draft.

I also love drama. Not the irritating type that pulls heartstrings and wastes time, but the useful, creative kind that involves dressing up like a barbarian and drinking alcohol out of a horn until falling on children and writing about it later. I enjoy observing the world, and tend to wander into awkward places and odd situations, whether they be trying to find a small bag of cocaine in a large snowdrift or finding out just what a "Gorean party" is in lurid, fleshy detail. It's all part of the story, unpleasantness and injustice and all, and if any part of me proves my Heartlessness it's that I am aware of the term "triage", and am quite comfortable leaving people impaled on their own hubris.
