I live my life for myself. I don't try to be what other people want me to be. I don't give in to pressure to be "womanly" or "nice" if its at odds with what I want to do with my life.

I think about things and make choices, instead of letting things happen to me. I figure that you get one shot at life, you really owe it to yourself to make the most of it. There isn't time to do everything; so you have to choose the life that makes you happy.

I'm not cruel or mean spirited to other people without a reason; but, I do choose my friends carefully and, in the interest of self-preservation, keep others at a distance. I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who create their own problems. And, I don't feel responsible for helping people who don't help themselves. No, not even if they're family.

I have a wonderful partner who I love beyond all reason. And, he is a good, kind-hearted, intelligent and generous soul. Over the past 13 years, I think I've jaded him a bit. But, I don't feel that much remorse for it. :)
