I am a Muslim American who has had about enough. I lived in one of the most remote part of my state and where I live is not exactly welcoming to foreigners. I was teased mercilessly at school about being "different". One day, I could not take it anymore. I spoke up and told those bullies that I have had enough and refuse to take their shit anymore. Because of what has happened to me when I was younger, I didn't want other "foreign" kids who might eventually move to the area to go the same thing as I have. My sister and I go around to different high schools in the remote area that we live in and talk about being Muslim. We dispel myths and discuss issues that they would otherwise have no clue whatsoever about. My mother taught me to be loud and opinionated. And to never look for a man's approval to make you feel good. I try to carry those two principles in my life. And if a man does come along, he has to take all of me. Even my big mouth.
