Molly
I am a girl. I occasionally wear skirts, I love puppies, and I have high tea with my friends on Sunday afternoons. I also fence, shoot a bow and a rifle, and love whitewater canoeing. Nothing in the world enrages me more than ignorance and prejudice.
As an engineering major at a 'new ivy league' university, I unfortunately face ignorance and prejudice on a regular basis. My high school teachers told me that female engineers are unemployable and I should do something else with my life regardless of my passion and talent. The sorority girl living down the hall from me thinks my activities and hobbies are unseemly, and elderly family members think that I am too assertive and opinionated for my own good.
I am a Heartless Bitch because I refuse to allow the stupidity of those around me get me down. I do not tolerate other people telling me what I can and cannot do, especially on the basis of gender. I am unladylike, I have strong opinions, I am often one of the only females in my class, and I am not afraid to stand up for myself. I am Heartless Bitch because I strive to be the best at all I do. I am not afraid to prove the high school teachers, lecherous uncles and the sorority Bitches attempting their MRS degrees of the world wrong through my success. I do not stop or slow down when I encounter adversity, but instead I smile and attempt to change people's opinions of traditional gender roles through my actions and by kicking ass at all the unorthodox things I do.
