Basically I believe in everything listed on your homepage. I am
disgusted by the objectification of women in our society. For example, two young
actresses are posing totally nude on the cover of this month's Vanity Fair. Of
course the man on the cover (Tom Ford) is totally clothed, standing stoically
amid the naked women, playing Master to their Sex Goddesses. If that isn't
enough, there is also a photo of George Clooney dressed in a tux, looking out
onto a sea of half naked, bikini-clad women. Is that really necessary?? What
exactly is that supposed to accomplish? Well, I guess now we know what a "chick
magnet" Mr. Clooney is...
Anyway, I spent last year serial dating to try and find a tolerable guy to
spend time with. Alas, there were none to speak of in this metropolitan area.
Date after date with self-centered, chauvinistic, sons of Bitches did nothing to
lift my doubts as to whether there really are "nice guys" out there. I haven't
attempted to date in quite a while and I am happy just doing my thing and
focusing on my own goals.
I find it very disturbing and frustrating that I have to keep defending my
single-ness to people I know. People ask if I'm lonely, or they say shit like
"Don't worry you'll find someone." Like I'm actually worried!!! I love being
single. People assume you're either desperately searching for "the one," or that
you're a lesbian. I hate women who act like they are fine being alone and they
have other things to think about, but then when they do meet some guy, suddenly
they're trying to put your mind at ease, like "Oh, you poor thing. Maybe my man
has some single friends." No thank you!! So I'm sick of people assuming I'm
lonely or gay just because I don't have a freaking boyfriend and I don't appear
to be upset about that!
