I'm a Heartless Bitch because:

I really feel I must edit the opening phrase, hopefully this will not preclude me from joining.

I am certainly a Bitch, but I am not Heartless. If I were Heartless I wouldn't care, therefore I wouldn't bother being a Bitch.

It is very clear that in this United States at this time for a qualified female to be treated equally to her counterparts it frequently is necessary to take actions that are labeled "Bitchy."

I have proclaimed myself a Bitch for many years. I own a pink, neon sign that states "BITCH" - it is always lit and hangs in my window, which is a front window to our house.

I have a daughter who is 15, I affectionately call her "baby Bitch" or "Bitch in training." If she acts insipidly I strip her of the title for a period of time, until she earns it back.

My husband understands why I call myself The Bitch (I insist on the capital T and B). I have a son, 16, who is well aware of my self-imposed title.

I am smart, quick, opinionated, logical, strong, and old enough to be proud of my opinions, able to back them up with facts, and stand my ground - all of which earn me the title of The Bitch. It is the unfortunate person who attempts to connect this to "mid life" in any way other than to know that I am now experienced enough to stand up for myself.
