There are a lot of people out there who believe that intellectualism belongs with all the other 'isms' that stalk our era: just another prejudice to be avoided where possible. But I find the older I get (and I've got a way to go yet) the less patience I have for the amoebas of this planet.

That said, I'm not malicious, I'd rarely be called Bitchy by anybody close to me, I'll even admit I have a dislike of confrontation. So why should I be a Bitch?

Just because I don't like confrontation is no reason to go changing any of my views. I'll say what I think politely. Any upset that comes from it is down to how the recipient handles it. Generally speaking only those who can take a few of my right-hook truths end up close to being a friend (I don't have many). I expect honesty and hard truth from friends and I'll give it in return - how else do you earn respect?

God what else - anything I say sounds too much like a sales pitch. I read (books with no pictures that sometimes have big words too!), I'm clawing my way up in the finance industry (I presume that's the same everywhere - old boys clubs know no borders) etc etc. I get tired of the 'you're like a boy, but like a girl too' comments - so I enjoy being a woman but I also have a brain and I'm not afraid to use it - is that so rare? Oh yeah - it is - that's why I'm here right?
