I'm a Heartless Bitch because...
My parents were of mixed Eastern European backgrounds from the Chicago
area. Greek, Polish, Lithuanian, Czech, you name it-I've probably got some
genetics from that country in me. When I was born we came out to a town in
Missouri that has been predominantly German and Irish for the last 200 years.
Fast-forwarding into my high school education I have been surrounded by pretty
blondes who look like Hitler's Perfect Nation. I have become highly jaded to
seeing all of my friends get attractive boyfriends while I constantly get asked,
"Are you Jewish? You look Jewish." Since our community is highly Catholic, they
usually get the point when I respond with "Are you Baptist? You look
Baptist."
Since I don't have the same Aryan genetics as all of the vapid skanks in my
area, I try to differentiate myself with intelligence and wit. Unfortunately, it
intimidates men to be near someone smarter than they are. I am often labeled
weird or pretentious just because I paid attention in class and I love to learn
new things.
ME: "...Nahh, I think it sounds futile."
JERKOFF: "Futile? What the hell does that mean?"
ME: "Look it up in a dictionary."
JERKOFF: "I have friends, you know."
ME: "That's great, maybe one of them can sound out the big words for
you."
I am also incredibly sick of the double-standard between male and female
humor. If some buffoon in my social group cracks a joke, everyone laughs. If I
make a joke that required three times the thought to make, they might snicker at
best. That right there is what turned my idiotic, adolescent humor into adult
cynicism.
So in conclusion, what makes me a Heartless Bitch? I try to spread the
gospel that "People shouldn't base their happiness on the presence of another
person." Time and time again I've only seen it lead to emotional meltdown and
I'm the poor sap stuck eating cheap ice cream and watching shitty chick flicks
with my friends while they recover from their loser boyfriends.
