I refuse to accept that any opinion cannot be questioned; if it's not open for debate, then it might as well be dogma.

When I find evidence that my views are ill founded, or just plain wrong, I change them. I hold others to the same standard, but am frequently disappointed.

I try to moderate my rhetoric to some degree, my friends are my friends because they like spending time with me and I like their company; they aren't there to be ranted at when I get ratty - but I rarely accept asinine points of view from anyone without challenge and I enjoy a good debate.

The only 'incidents' I find I regret are those occasions when I didn't take a stand; even if I've argued badly, I have at least opened up a dialogue and challenged the assumption that that particular view or attitude is accepted universally. I try to learn from my mistakes and do it better the next time; including typing the right damn email address on membership applications!
