I'm a Heartless Bitch because...
I just graduated from high school and I've dated a few of the guys who call
themselves "nice guys," and was amazed to find your article describes them
perfectly.
I went to a high school where the classes were all discussion based, so I
love to argue, and work out the truth and what's right from the vast amount of
bullshit and bias that people pad their words with. I won't let people get
away with flimsy arguments or a complete lack of evidence, but at the same time,
I'm not so rigid or stubborn as to believe that I am always right, or even that
my truth is true for everyone else. And I'm not afraid or ashamed of calling
myself a feminist - I think it's appalling that words like "liberal" and
"feminist" have become dirty in the current American media sphere (possibly the
world); I'm both, and I'm damned proud of it.
I'm a bit of an artist, and I really admire the Guerrilla Girls for their
endeavors towards equality in the art world. While my dream is to be an artist,
it's a bit of a fruitless one, and I plan to go into law, likely political law,
and keep arguing, for marriage rights for homosexuals, for a woman's right to
control her body, and whatever comes up in the future.
But most of all, I'm a Heartless Bitch because I'm honest: I say what's on
my mind and what I believe in, and I will be the first to admit if I'm
completely obviously wrong or have made a complete misstep (granted, if the
wrong is a bit more subtle, it may take more time to untangle as I stand my
ground, but it'll happen). I know I'm just human.
