Let's say (hypothetically speaking of course) that Sue is dating
Jonny. Jonny isn't really all that into Sue, and breaks up with her.
Jonny then moves on to a new girlfriend Kim. Sue (being totally
bewildered, immature and ludicrous) wages some huge war against Kim for stealing
the boyfriend. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS RATIONALE TO ME?!?! I
understand that getting fucked over and hurt isn't an experience most people
enjoy but really, to attack the new women in his life as though she had
committed some wrong is pathetic, laughable and pitiable.
Having seen situations like this before have made me absolutely calloused
to insecure girls who don't want to rock the boat. If your
boyfriend/husband/significant other fucks you over, that sucks and I really do
empathize - no one deserves to be treated like shit. But if you are so
upset as to seek some sort of vengeance, wouldn't it make sense to go after the
perpetrator (the MAN WHO SCREWED YOU OVER) instead of his new girlfriend?
Women are so afraid of being old spinsters living alone that they will sacrifice
their own self respect by forgiving the assailant and alienating a totally
innocent party. As if Having A Man (no matter how immoral and immature) is
better than having NO man. This is the shit we are hand-feeding young
girls in our society. Then we question why so many are in abusive
relationships (be it physical or emotional), why so many are resorting to
extraordinary measures (such as eating disorders) to KEEP these fuck-up men in
their lives, etc.
The same goes for a woman who is cheated on... again, it's a horrible
situation but is it always the other woman's fault? Or was your
boyfriend/husband JUST as willing and guilty? For the "other woman" to be
vilified makes me sick. I'm tired of shit men pawning off their ownership
and accountability in these situations but more importantly, I'm sick of
women LETTING THEM!
It's quite sad that asking people to be accountable,
logical, reasonable and intelligent about their decisions makes me a
Bitch. But if that's the label I get for asking women and men alike to
pull their heads out of their collective asses, so be it. You can
call me a Bitch any day of the week.
