I stumbled across this site via another, and within minutes was feeling a heady combination of relief that I'm not alone in thinking the way I do, and evil glee at the prospect of not only reading other people's well-written invective but also contributing my own personal brand of righteous bile!

I'm sick and tired of whinging people for whom the prospect of taking responsibility is so outside their experience that it sets off a stream of "you're lucky - you've never had to struggle blah blah blah" without any thought to the effort I put into making my life as it is. Of *course* I've sometimes followed my head rather than my heart, even when I haven't wanted to, of *course* I've made mistakes (such as marrying a gay guy who was successfully hiding his proclivities), but hell, if I don't pick myself up, dust myself off and have a bloody good giggle about it, what's the point of it all?

Hitting 38 and being single for the first time in 17 years was no picnic, but I've learnt to be self-sufficient, have fantastic friends, and not allow any emotionally-crippled, retarded, loser man take me for a ride at any point. I know what I want, and I have the resources to make sure I have the best shot possible at getting it.
