I am Heartless Bitch because I'm tired hearing that I'm cute when I'm angry, that my feisty spirit is endearing. I'm tired of WASPy men finding me alluring because I'm opinionated and outspoken, only because they somehow want to "harness" my "exoticness" (READ: they want to tame me and make me their barefoot and pregnant love slave).

I am also a Heartless Bitch because I rejected the victim mentality, choosing instead to fight for what I want and what I believe in. Until other women do the same (and until men, oh, I dunno, stop raping and abusing women), however, we're going to continue to be the target of sexual violence, discrimination, and all of the wonderful things that come with being a woman in this society. I am not a victim-blamer. I am merely pointing out that women need to find ways to reclaim their strength, and to display it in spite of what people say is "womanly behavior". In short, more women need to become Heartless Bitches.

Also, irony and satire are not lost on me. In fact, they're some of my favorite things.

I want to spread the word about Heartless Bitchiness, and help my sisters find their inner HB.
