... because I'm finished being patient with stupidity, duplicity and double standards. While my words may be cushioned with as much tact as your behavior deserves, I say what I think, whether you want to hear it or not. Don't ask for my opinion or advice if all you want is somebody to agree with you, because it is not my job to applaud your every move. Want unflagging approval? Call your mother, or get a dog.

There have been friendships lost over my attitude, but those kind of friendships are draining to everyone involved. I used to be more supportive and nurturing, then I woke up and figured out it isn't my job to "mother" the world. We all have our life-lessons to learn. Sheltering others from hard truths doesn't lead to anything but more dependence.

Too many times I've been taken in by pretty words, but I've managed to grow up. I do have my own standards and have learned they are worth upholding.
