I refuse to be walked on by anyone, regardless of gender or age. That's
pretty much it in a nutshell.
I stood up to a landlord who was renting us a substandard property, and
because of her I have worked to establish a tenants' rights organization
in my community, to strengthen the masses. I've stood up to other
landlords as well, and the people who do "screenings" for them without
giving tenants a chance to respond to the negative things on their
reports they give to the landlords. I have also gotten the landlord in
question blacklisted.
In the past, I have been tough as nails to my two ex-husbands, refusing
to cave in when they wanted to take advantage of me. I am in the process
of preparing to take one to court, as he seems to think he can get the
kid whenever he wants, and not pay anything when he's fallen behind.
I've also been known to be quite... ahem... nasty to idiots who think
women are playthings. In a bar years ago, a guy came up to me at the
counter and asked if I'd like to see his big 8. (I'd seen him talking to
other women without success.) So I whispered, "Sure." When he whipped it
out, I yelled, very loudly, "That's not 8 inches, that's 8 MILLIMETERS!"
He slunk off, (tiny flaccid) tail between his legs...
And if that in itself isn't enough to call me a Heartless Bitch, I don't know what is.
