I'm a Heartless Bitch because even though I like men - hell, I even love some men - I won't let them walk all over me just to get them to stay around. As Monique, a recent Heartless Bitch member says, "If you're tired of having shit wiped on you, get up off of the floor." I won't stay in a relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship. I'm better off alone than in a relationship with an asshole, abuser, addict, or some other variety of jerk. I'm a good woman and therefore I deserve way more than that.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I truly do have sympathy for those from shitty backgrounds, those who grew up abused, abandoned, etc. However, I'll only baby, coddle and expend endless patience to those who are still children living in those situations. For those who are now adults, if you made it out of that hell to become a productive, semi-sane adult, I have the utmost respect for your resilience and perseverance. If, however, you're still whining about it, shut the hell up. You're not a child any longer. In the words of Don Henley, "I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass. Get over it." (I quoted a songwriter but since I gave the writer credit, I think that should be okay.)
I'm a Heartless Bitch because I cannot stand to hear a woman say that she won't confront her husband or boyfriend about something that bothers her because she's "afraid" that it will upset him. What the hell is there to be afraid of? If he doesn't beat her, then she's "afraid" that he'll be upset? He'll get over it. If he does beat her, why hasn't she invited me and my Mickey Mantle little league baseball bat over yet? Mickey Mantle and I will straighten his ass out. I have neither respect nor sympathy for martyrs or the long-suffering.
I'm a Heartless Bitch because if you wrong me, I'll forgive you in time because it's the best thing that I can do for ME. But don't think for a minute that because you're forgiven, that means that you're invited back to shit on me again. I forgive but I don't forget.
