I don't let people help me because I am "just a girl". I am a capable human being and if I feel like I can handle something on my own (using power tools, carrying something that is heavy, or trying to figure it out) I am going to continue to work on it on my own even if it hurts someone else's pride. If I want help I will ask. Otherwise, I WANT to do it myself. That hurts some feelings along the way and makes me a flaming Bitch in the eyes of some. I see myself as an active and competent person and that is SO much more important to me than what someone else thinks.
