I have very little tolerance for stupidity. I can handle women who make mistakes or bad choices -- I've made plenty. Women who are giggly or silly don't bother me. They can be fun. Stupidity bothers me.
Stupidity is a choice. You might not wake up one morning and consciously think, "Gee, I think I'm going to be stupid today," but that doesn't make it any less of a choice. You choose to turn left or right. You choose to get piss drunk or stay sober. You choose to let people treat you badly. You choose to love yourself or hate yourself.
There's not much you can do about stupid people, except rant about them. You can't confront a stupid person, because most often they don't realize how genuinely stupid they are. Stupidity can be passed off as youthful ignorance or senility of old age. Stupidity can be ignored as a temporary flaw in judgment. Stupidity is constant and repeated.
I'm Heartless, because I've lived my days of stupidity. I'm a Bitch, because I don't let past choices dictate my future. I'm a Bitch because I won't let you pass off your own stupid choices as an excuse for why you are who, where, or what you are.
There are no valleys between hills too steep to climb. Not an original saying, but it's true. Wherever you are, whatever you have made of your life, there is always an out. You can go on blaming everyone and everything else, or you can choose to pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get on with your life and make the best of it.
I've screwed up plenty of times. That doesn't mean I cannot have a good life with a great future.
Every woman needs to learn how to love herself. When you love something, you protect it.
