Yep, I opted out of the call waiting feature for a few reasons, on home phone, one of them being that this feature is just fucking annoying. I recently ranted on my blog about people using cell phones while driving. I’m sure they are taking more than one call while driving if they have call waiting. I can’t tell you how many times a traffic light has turned green and the idiot in front of me, yakkin on the phone, hasn’t bothered to notice that light is green. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been cut off by people who don’t bother to look before switching lanes because they are yakkin on the cell. Sheesh.

I interrupt leisurely (i.e. not mandatory) conversations with friends for call waiting if:
    a) it’s someone important or
    b) it says unknown caller since I am the sort who just HAS to KNOW who it is, and ironically it’s usually a telemarketer.

In any case, I always make a point to get back to the original call as soon as possible. I’d only ditch them for another call if it was really important or I just don’t like them anyway.
